What are ridge caps?
Ridge caps are the top-most tiles positioned at the ridges of your roof where two or more sloping sides meet. They protect and stabilise your roof by sealing the gap so as to prevent water and pests from entering your home and also holding all lower tiles in place.

Pointing is the cement mortar used to seal the joints between ridge caps on your roof. This provides a seal that prevents water, dust and pests from getting inside your roof. Over time pointing is prone to deteriorate, requiring what we call re-pointing, to ensure the seal remains intact.
